Brow and Lash Challenge

Hi guys, today marks the start to my official brow and lash challenge. Nature has not blessed me with voluminous lashes or brows. In fact, my brows are super thin and sparse and so are my lashes. I've tried many of the popular products on the market that promises fuller brows and long lashes to no avail. Today I kickstart my natural journey to longer lashes and fuller brows.

Firstly, here's a snapshot of what my brows and lashes look like to date.

Here's what I'll be doing.
For 30 consecutive days, I'll be applying a special serum to my brows and lashes. At the end of the 30 days, I will document my progress (if any) with pictures.

Special Serum
100% pure cold pressed castor oil
extra virgin organic coconut oil
avacado or vitamin -e oil

Below is a video documenting how to grow longer lashes and brows.
Wish me luck guys and I invite those of you with similar type lashes and brows to join me in this challenge.

November Faves

Hellooooo November! Did I mention before that I simply love this time of the year? I don't know what it is but autumn puts me in a cheery kind of mood. Which leads me to the purpose of this post.... My November Faves.

First up is this gorgeous maxi dress from Express. You all already know my obsession with maxi dresses! Autumn is the start of formal balls and office party season. This dress is festive enough that it would be perfect for either event. I have a number of events coming up and this look will definitely be added to my closet. Can't wait!
I call myself very basic when it comes to hand washing. Any liquid hand soap would normally do for me. However, I was gifted with two of the Bath and Body Works foaming hand soaps and oh my gosh I fell deeply and madly in love with them. The scents are glorious and my hands feel so smooth after washing. I've already used up all of my "Island White Pineapple" and currently starting on my second gifted bottle of "Mango Mojito". Right now there's a fall line at Bath and Body Works that I desperately want to get my hands on.

This next item, I actually own. My hubs bought it for me on a recent trip. I absolutely adore this bracelet from Pandora. It is simple but quite a beauty. This is one of my most favorite pieces of jewelry.
Cider is good anytime of the year but it is especially better in the fall. The cider I like has a little kick to it and it's quite refreshing. This cider is perfect for a light drinker like myself. Oh and it tastes good too. There are a variety of flavors to choose from too like "green apple", "stone dry" and a special holiday brew called "cinnful apple". If you like cider, I would highly recommend this brand.
For the feet, I just scored the most comfortable and not to mention fashionable pair of flats from Mel by Melissa. They are uber comfortable and I want to wear them all the time. I have them in basic black but they also come in beige and grey.

Last on my list of November faves is this cool faux fur double breasted peacoat from Nordstrom. It's the perfect outerwear for the chill of November and it's killing it in the style category.

I've enjoyed sharing my November faves with you. Hope you like them. What are you looking forward to getting for the month of November?

October Must Haves

Next to September (virgo baby!!!!), October is one of my most favorite months. It signals the beginning of fall, hot drinks, cozy sweaters and cuddling weather. As we get into this most festive time of the year, here are some things i'd like to covet for this month.

1.  iPhone 6s
I still own an iPhone 4 from 2011 and promised to not give into the upgrade machinery until my phone met its ultimate demise. Even after a few unfortunate mishaps, all I can say is that this phone can sure take a licking but keeps on ticking. However, the heart wants what it wants and for me that's a rose gold colored iPhone 6s.

2. MAC Media Lipstick
Perfect for fall, this dark vampy color is a must have.

3. Marc by Marc Jacobs Sunglasses
I tried one of these on in a local store and immediately fell in love. They are quite comfy, sexy and reasonably priced.

4. M.A.C Bespoken For Lip Pencil
Goes perfectly with that Media lipstick mentioned before or my other favorite color 'sin'.
5. Michael Todd - Skin Defender Facial Cleanser
I'm almost out of my current cleanser and looking to try something new. I've seen many positive reviews on YouTube about this cleanser and want to give it a try.
6. Two Strap Leather Sandals
I don't even know why I want these, but they're shoes and I can't get enough of them (lol).
7. Zip-Up Peplum Top
This combination of my favorite color red and zips just does it for me. So cool.

8. Pleated Maxi Skirt
I love maxi skirts just as much as I love maxi dresses. I think they're so feminine! This particular one is by BCBG.

Original Conditioning Hair Masque (Product Review)

My hair has being feeling pretty parched lately because of the harsh summer sun and heat. Therefore, I needed something to give me that moisture laden feeling again. I came across an online store called Butters n Bars that sells all natural and ayourveda products. I searched for deep conditioners and came across this hair masque and was immediately attracted to the lush pink color and proclaimed benefits.

Product Description
Original Conditioning Hair Masque which has a mixture of Australian Pink Clay, Moroccan Mud, and raw Honey to provide super moisturizing and is recommended for dry hair to restore the moisture balance. Silk protein and hemp seed oil for sheen and to strengthen. This is the deep treatment for those who want the conditioning effect of henna without the color, loosening of curls, and sometimes drying that comes with henna. Curl Poppin', Shine and Define!!!!

Ingredients
100% Australian Pink clay and Moroccan Mud (Rasshoul clay), organic aloe vera juice, virgin hemp seed oil, organic virgin olive oil ,organic raw honey and silk protein in the form of amino acids, and preservative (formaldehyde and sulfate free Preservative)

Tips For Use
Apply liberally to clean hair, be sure to coat all the hair to the ends. Leave on at least 30 minutes (overnight for a deeper condition) Cover hair with a plastic cap or bag to utilize body heat and seal in moisture. Rinse with warm water until no traces of masque remain in hair (a good indicator is rinse until the water runs clear) DO NOT SHAMPOO AFTERWARDS *This conditioner has a thick consistency like pudding so many of us mix it with a good organic conditioner to make a deep conditioning gloss.

My Review
I give this product 4 out of 5 stars. I love how it makes my hair feel. After rinsing out with warm water (loads of rinsing, reason for 4 out of 5 stars) my hair is super soft and detangled.  It leaves my hair feeling stronger and more moisturized.  I have kinky coily hair and this stuff gives me a little curl definition (similar to the maximum hydration method) when wet. My scalp feels cleansed and believe it or not their is no scent.  The price on the Original Conditioning Hair Masque is not bad either. For just $7.99 you get a 6oz jar of the masque (felt no weight shelling out that amount for the product). I must say that for my bra strap length hair, I can easily get 6 uses out of this jar. Not bad right? This masque is definitely a keeper in my weekly hair regimen. It's good for all hair types so if you're suffering from dry hair or just want to try something new to amp up your hair give it a whirl.

You Don't Need Fixing!

I hope this post inspires someone. Often times we have people in our life (be it family or friends) who make it their mission to "fix you". Always in your ear telling you to dress like this or fix your hair like that. They have a critical comment about almost every aspect of your life. The kicker is they genuinely think they're doing you a service. Many of us tolerate it so as not to be rude or may even believe that we need "fixing". Here's my insight on the matter.

STOP! You Don’t Need Fixing.
IGNORE their judgmental stares and critical lips.
You Don’t Need Fixing.
It’s YOUR life, YOUR body, YOUR hair.  Wear it as YOU please.
They don’t need fixing.
You don’t need material things to prove your worth.
Don't try to fit in. Instead STAND OUT!
Be Happy Being The Way You Are.
Of course they believe they’re helping.
They think you need improvement.
Wear this, buy that, let me see you this way…
But...
YOU DON'T NEED FIXING
